Main aim of the project

To strengthen the sustainable farming systems of riverside communities with a view to limiting deforestation linked to farming in Deng Deng National Park.

Expected results

at least 80% of farmers in 3 villages reduce their farming activities within the Deng Deng National Park by the end of the project;
at least 60% of targeted farmers implement sustainable farming practices outside the park;
the sources of income of 30 households in the 3 target villages are diversified;

Main aim of the project

To contribute to greater ownership of agroecology by agroecosystem stakeholders in the Congo Basin through advocacy and evidence of its effectiveness.

More evidence of the effectiveness of agroecology produced and disseminated;
Advocacy for the promotion of incentives for innovative agroecological practices;

Project’s main objective

Contribute to reducing food and nutritional insecurity for small-scale farming families through agroecological practices.

Expected results

  • Productivity and dietary diversity in smallholder farming systems in project areas increased ;
  • The nutritional situation of the target group in the project areas, particularly women and young people, has improved ;
  • Political dialogue at local and national level for the agro-ecological transition has been initiated ;

Project’s main objective

  • Strengthen the networking of agroecology players in Cameroon,
  • Influence Cameroon’s agricultural and food policies in favor of agroecology.
  • Promote good agroecological practices by producer organizations in Cameroon.

  • The emergence of public policies in favor of agroecology;
  • Large-scale dissemination of agroecological practices and their adoption by farmers in Cameroon.

Project’s main objective

Get rural scolarized teenagers in Bangoua (West Cameroon) interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and climate-resilient farming practices, to encourage young people (especially girls) to pursue careers in science related to the environment and agriculture.

Expected results

  • 33 teachers equipped with teaching methodologies on climate change resilience practices;

  • 1,094 students (546 girls and 548 boys) sensitized to environmental issues in 05 secondary schools in the village of Bangoua (West Cameroon), aged between 12 and 18, with an average of almost 50% female.

Project objectives

  • Specific objective N°1 : Enable target populations to gain a better understanding of agroecology and sustainable land management
  • Specific objective no. 2: Ensure that trained local populations adopt agro-ecological
    practices to ensure food security
  • Specific objective no. 3: Improve the nutritional situation of beneficiary populations
    particularly women and young children

Main results achieved

  • 50 people (23 in Akak and 27 in Nkoelon) including 21 women (11 in Akak and 10 in Nkoelon) were on agroecology and sustainable land management.
  • 45 people (including 20 women) from the villages of Nkoelon (23 people) and Akak (22 people) were trained in six (6) agroecological practices (crop association, mulching, crop rotation crop rotation, seed production and multiplication techniques, staking and staking and bio-pesticide production)
  • 02 village nurseries have been set up, producing almost 2,000 seedlings of safflower, avocado and moringa.
  • Fifteen (15) individual fields and one community field covering a total area of 23 ha were set up for the implementation of three (3) agroecological practices, namely potted plant production, crop rotation and biopesticide treatment. with biopesticides. With production of maize, groundnuts and plantain.
  • 30 women from Akak and Nkoelon villages were able to identify the signs presented by a child aged 6 to 59 months suffering from malnutrition (swollen belly and feet, hair turning red hair turning red, diarrhea, weight loss, sunken eyes, drooping cheeks…) and use brachial perimeters to monitor children’s nutritional status.
  • 30 women from the villages of Akak and Nkoelon are able to cook 3 soy-based dishes soy sauce with tomato, soy sauce with palm nuts and cassava leaves, and soy porridge soy porridge specially formulated for children aged 6 to 59 months.
