Main aim of the project

To strengthen the sustainable farming systems of riverside communities with a view to limiting deforestation linked to farming in Deng Deng National Park.

Expected results

at least 80% of farmers in 3 villages reduce their farming activities within the Deng Deng National Park by the end of the project;
at least 60% of targeted farmers implement sustainable farming practices outside the park;
the sources of income of 30 households in the 3 target villages are diversified;

Funding

The project is funded by IUCN through the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Programme (BIOPAMA), an initiative of the ACP Group of countries financed by the 11th EDF of the European Union.

Main aim of the project

To contribute to greater ownership of agroecology by agroecosystem stakeholders in the Congo Basin through advocacy and evidence of its effectiveness.

Expected results

An inventory of agroecology in the Congo Basin;
More evidence of the effectiveness of agroecology produced and disseminated;
Advocacy for the promotion of incentives for innovative agroecological practices;

Project’s main objective

Contribute to reducing food and nutritional insecurity for small-scale farming families through agroecological practices.

Expected results

  • Productivity and dietary diversity in smallholder farming systems in project areas increased ;
  • The nutritional situation of the target group in the project areas, particularly women and young people, has improved ;
  • Political dialogue at local and national level for the agro-ecological transition has been initiated ;

October 2021 – September 2024

Project’s main objective

  • Strengthen the networking of agroecology players in Cameroon,
  • Influence Cameroon’s agricultural and food policies in favor of agroecology.
  • Promote good agroecological practices by producer organizations in Cameroon.

Expected results

  • The emergence of public policies in favor of agroecology;
  • Large-scale dissemination of agroecological practices and their adoption by farmers in Cameroon.
