SAILD is once again installing classroom libraries at Djende 2 public elementary school.
On April 23, 2024, the Djende 2 public elementary school in the Haut-Nyong department of the East Cameroon region received 361 books for kindergarten through to second-year Cours Moyens (CM2). The school is the latest beneficiary of the Rural Development Documentation Center of the Support Service for Local Development Initiatives (CDDR-SAILD). Books being the main teaching tool, the head of the school expressed his gratitude for this support in educational material.
The project is part of the “One Class, One Library” program, which aims to equip nursery and elementary school in rural areas with small classroom libraries.
As a reminder, on March 27 the Wall public school in the Haute-Sanaga department, Centre-Cameroon region, benefited from books and cupboards as part of the same program. An opportunity to remind pupils and teachers of the importance of reading.
