Heavy rains may fall in the North-West, South-West, West, Adamaoua, North, and East regions. The period from January to March (JFM) is marked by the dry season throughout the country. The following information has been compiled to predict precipitation and temperature parameters for the JFM period in 2026.
Rainfall Forecast
According to the National Meteorological Service, rainfall will be normal to above normal on the coast. Seasonal totals will be between 110 and 125% of normal.
Rainfall will also be normal in the northwest, southwest, west, coastal areas, a small part of the east, and most of the central and southern regions. Seasonal rainfall will be between 90 and 110% of normal.
However, rainfall will be normal to below normal in most of the east. Seasonal rainfall will be between 75 and 90% of normal.
The dry season will be observed in the north and the northern part of the eastern and central regions during this period.
Heat forecast
During the January-February-March season, above-normal average temperatures are expected across most of the country. However, in the Far North and on the Coast, temperatures are expected to be normal.
