The 2026 Annual General Meeting: Shaping the Future of Inter-Réseaux

The general assembly of the Inter-Réseaux Développement rural association, held in Paris from June 15 to 17, 2026, with a representative from SAILD in attendance, discussed the future of the network.

The Inter-Réseaux 2026 meeting provided an opportunity for the approximately 40 members to engage in a frank discussion about the network’s challenges and prospects. Indeed, IR is going through a difficult period due to the drastic reduction in financial support from the French Development Agency (AFD), which is its main source of funding.

Over the course of three days, the association’s members reflected on the possibilities and opportunities to be seized in order to sustain this large Francophone network, which has earned a reputation over the past 30 years for promoting information that benefits family farming, agroecology, and pastoralism in the Sahel. These opportunities should be explored not only by the Board of Directors and the technical team, but by all members concerned about the network’s future.

Held in a hybrid format—in person in Nogent-sur-Marne and online via Zoom—the 2026 Annual General Meeting included a celebration on the banks of the Marne marking the 30th anniversary of the IR association, which was founded in 1996. SAILD, represented by Marie Pauline VOUFO, a member of the Board of Directors, took part in the collective discussion to shape the network’s future.
