It was launched by the African Union during a workshop held in Yaoundé on December 2, 2021.
In partnership with the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and the Knowledge Centers for Organic Agriculture (KCOA) project, the African Union’s Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative (EOAI) launched its platform in Central Africa.
The members of the Central Africa knowledge hub of organic agriculture took part in the workshop held in the capital of Cameroon. These include CIPCRE, CPF, GADD, INADES and SAILD.



Following the workshop, the members of the steering committee of the Ecological and Organic Agriculture initiative visited the NGO Support Service for Grassroots Development Initiatives SAILD as well as the field of a producer supported by this NGO. During the field visit on December 3, 2021, participants were able to see some of the ecological agriculture practices promoted by SAILD, including those related to soil regeneration, natural soil fertilization and crop association with pigeon pea.
